Non Original Holes - Yes

There was a TAMA mount added o the 13" = Two holes

There was a Pearl Mount added to the 16" = Two holes

There are THREE Non Gretsch Lugs

Two on the floor tom and one on the bass drum

They were the same hole configuration so nothing was drilled to replace.

If the tension rods on the bass drum are not original Gretsch, they were replaced for some reason before it came into my world.

While I had the head off of the floor tom to verify holes, I went ahead and shined it up. It was more time consuming to remove them... they cleaned right up

I don't recall Grestch and Ludwig lugs being interchangeable......

From blairndrums

I don't recall Grestch and Ludwig lugs being interchangeable......

They certainly have all the markings of Ludwig Lugs... but I looked to see if one of the holes was drilled out, and there is nothing out of the ordinary.

Looks like one of the pieces to the "Gladstone" style leg mounts is missing.

Because of the modifications this kit falls into the "players" category. Still a nice kit but for the collectors the extra holes especially are a turn off. That being said I bought a non players grade round badge kit in the area of $800 but it had a snare also and they guy really wanted to sell. Maybe start out asking just north of $1k and see what happens? You might have better luck moving them on eBay to someone looking for a project. Just be honest with everything you know about them. I hate listings like this:

He first listed it as saying no extra holes. Well what about that pearl tom mount! Ok rant over.

Thank you for the straight forward feedback! Up front and honest is how I roll, which is why I reached out for feedback. Until your analysis, it seemed they, (the drums) were pretty much just taking a beating.

Thanks again!

I think they are pretty cool with a few minor issues .

Warning ... Avoid member statuscymbal here, vintage_collector on DFO , and americanpatriot10 on eBay. Email me for his name. All are the same shady guy who has burned me and a list of other members on both boards . He is also selling on Facebook too ..

No problem and the honest answer is they are worth whatever someone is willing to pay. Myself a few extra holes wont bother me for a players kit. Some folks are more particular than others. Have you had offers yet?

a bite off ebay from Chicago. That is appealing because its close. Close enough that they could inspect their purchase to make sure its as represented.... and I of course could inspect their cash to make sure its green :)

I shot 1100.... he countered at 900. we are close enough to work it out. still a few days left on the auction... we will see what happens in that theater as well.

Thanks again!

btw... just noticed your Imperialstar on your inventory (or history ) Nice! I had a darker red 5pc from about 87-95.

24" - 12" - 14" - 16" Vibra-Fibed by Bernie Stone here in Fort Wayne. As I have been remastering some old analog recordings from that time and listening to the drum stems, I wish I still had it!

It's a badass set that's very restorable or a players set. a nitpicky collector wouldn't dig the holes, the lugs can be replaced. does it have die cast hoops or "stick choppers"?

easily worth 600-1800 depending on the buyer
