Gretsch Microsensitive Strainer question

Good afternoon folks,

I have 2 Gretsch 4157 snare drums with 2 different generations of the Microsensitive strainer. The hole spacing looks the same even though the strainers are different. I'm assuming since the new reissue strainer is supposed to fit all versions of the Microsensitive that they never changed the hole spacing for the strainers.

In other words, if you look at the shell of any Gretsch snare originally equipped with the Microsensitive, the hole spacing should be the same.

Would you all agree?

Thanks all!

Ray

Got my answer from Drumforum.org. It is the same. Just putting it here in case someone comes across this in a search.

Now back to the drawing board.

I get that the hole spacing is the same. I was searching for information on the two depth sizes of the old MS Strainer and this was one of the threads that came up. I remember reading about it somewhere on a drum forum - maybe here - but can't find the thread. The thread had photos showing two sizes of strainer drops (one for 5 and 5.5" and one for 6.5" shells I think).

Does anyone remember seeing that or know where I can get the photos?

Hope I'm not hijacking here....

Thanks,
