This was given to me in 70's as part of a mismatched Gretsch kit.....can anyone tell me what year this drum was made? 16 inch heads, 3 ply.

Hmm,
I don't see any sound-rings so it's not early to mid-1950s... my guess it's from late 1957 to early 1962'ish time frame.
Really hard to tell from your photos how many plies... 3 or 6...

I know this drum. It's 3 ply, silver sealer, no inside label, reverse bearing edges.
I'm thinking mid-late 50's.
