Okay guys, I know nothing about George Way drums. These are being offered at a local shop near me. I'm thinking this is a good deal at the asking price of $349. Your opinions? Here's the Craigslist link: http://hartford.craigslist.org/msd/4481247908.html

That is the greatest craigslist description i've ever seen. I'm still chuckling over it. I would totally buy that! Very unique!

My only concern was how original this set is. Not being familiar with G.Way or Camco, I don't want to buy a set that's been pieced together with non-original hardware. The bass T-rods and claws look more like Ludwig to me, and I don't know if that is an original G.Way rail mount on the bass. Also, is that a vent hole on top of the bass? And if so, why no grommet and badge? Just want to be sure.

The snare drum is worth the asking price. Hoops look like they have silver sparkle inlays. Can't tell if that is damage by tha bass drum lug. Floor tom legs and mounts look correct. Your not going to lose on that deal. If I had the extra cash I would be all over it. I would be running not walking to the sellers house.

Just took a look at the vintage guide, the only thing that dont look right to me is the bass hoops, only because of the sparkle inlay. The snare is worth the sell price by itself, i think i would jump on it b4 its gone if i were you. Its a good thing i dont live close by.

With sincerest apologies to Mike, but while everybody was busy conducting a debate, I called the music store and bought the drums.

Mike, I hope you don't feel offended that I jumped on this kit, but I couldn't stand the thought of this kit being sold to a stranger while everyone here debated whether you should buy it or not. It was making me crazy, so I called the guy and bought the kit over the phone sight unseen. I paid an extra $200 to get the guy to box and ship it to me here in PA. He did not want to ship. It took hard cash and some convincing to get him to agree to do it. But, convince him I did and the drums will be on the way to me shortly.

Mike, I couldn't help it bro. It's a Geo Way kit that was literally being given away and everybody was just standing around jawing about it. Sometimes you just have to pull the trigger. Again, I hope you don't hold it against me, it was just too much to resist. While everybody was writing posts about it, somebody was going to come along and snag it. Turns out it was me!

I know, I'm an addict... can't help myself.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

I actually almost called to see if they would ship it too.

If it was on a CL here I would have high tailed it to the music shop and then posted about it with pics of it in my living room.

I posted here about another Ludwig Champagne Sparkle 24" bass drum on a CL post after I had bought my Keystone Champagne sparkle drums from the seller thank goodness. I was showing the kit I Had just found on CL and bought and mentioned there was another bass drum I was going back to get and a member here had already contacted the guy, bought and convinced the guy to ship it to him. It was a B/O badge and didn't match my kit! I was going to sell or trade it. I didn't even put the CL add on the post. Just that I got them on CL. But you can see where I am from on my avatar and a search of my area turned it up.

You have to be quick around here or if your serious about buying and just need some opinions just post the pic and not the source.

I say a finder's fee for Mike is in order :)

Pizza, case of artisan beer, pies of another type maybe?
