At least you didn't get a speeding ticket heading over there. That is truly a bummer. I hope the drum gods drop something your way to make up for the near miss.

If I could transport a Guinness into your lap I'd drop a 6 pack instead - Chris

Well, I was really feeling sorry for myself and my supposedly "bad luck" until I was reminded that today is the 25th anniversary of the crash of Northwest Flight 255 from Detroit Metropolitan Airport back in 1987 which left 156 dead with only 1 survivor. Suddenly missing out on a drum kit doesn't seem all that important.

blairndrums: There was no way I could have "camped out" since the owner of the kit didn't provide me with any information or pics until this morning, about an hour and a half before the "one-day sale" was to begin. Thanks for rubbing salt into the wounds with your $75 remark (lol)! You're probably right though.

thornbeck: To be completely honest with you it was probably the fender-bender on the freeway on my way to the sale that caused me to end up being the "2nd interested party". I didn 't make an offer on the tree or the "Live" poster but I did pick up a Seagram's Ty Cobb mirror and I'm not even a drinker. I thought it might make me feel better. Well, it hasn't! Actually it almost makes me feel like I overpaid for it after what I missed out on with the drums.

Hobbs (Chris): As I mentioned above, I'm not a drinker. However, even I could probably make an exception under these circumstances. Thanks for the offer!

Don't sweat it Oldschool! You already own the FINEST looking wrapped drums every produced, those Red Tiger Pearls!! Those crappers from the flea market would have just cramped the RTP's style!!

I can't argue with you on that one! Thanks for the "uplifting" input.

Not sure what that large cymbal was. I never got a chance to see it "up close and personal."
