hi everyone, im trying to restore my 70,s fibes kit but i need a set of bass drum spurs ,my kit is of the martin era but im not sure the exact age,the badge is square and the fibes name reads both ways up.the colour is i think smoke but looks black.does anyone know a good substance to clean crystalite? and also what heads can anyone recommend for the bass drum.does anyone have any info on the current state of the fibes co.?do they still exist? as the website does nothing at all . my kit sizes are 24x14,13x9,14x10,18x16 i would be grateful for any info regarding fibes drums and fittings . thanks very much,crawford hunter,edinburgh,scotland.

There are some spurs on e-bay right now, they come up once and a while.
Fibes has been out of business for the last few years, but I've heard, probably here, that they may be starting up again. Also read that Tommy's Drum Shop in Austin may have some parts, he's a former Fibes owner.
Place a post in the "wanted to buy" section for them too.
You can also search past threads for lots of info on vintage Fibes.
Some mild dish detergent and some elbow grease should get you started cleaning them up, nothing abrasive though.
Hey fellow crystalite afficionado! I cleaned mine with Windex (window cleaner), which was okay, however if I did it again I'd use something like Novus, which will really make them shine. That can also help with any scratches that might be on them. Be sure to post some photos!
