Fibes COF Question Last viewed: 6 days ago

I was on Steve Maxwell's website this morning and noticed that he just listed one of these wonderful drums and just to provide visual proof that the Pearl wires work, take a look at the last picture.

I was lucky enough to get two sets of the Puresound SFT wires from Bentley's Drum Shop in Fresno about 6 months ago. One set is on my COF and another on a smoke acrylic.

Thank you all. Vintage Emperor worked great. Pearl FF (Free Floating) snare wires worked perfect. It was the sound I was looking for right now. See the pix. As you can see from my other snares, I guess I only like one color.

Wow..Maxwell needs to learn a little fibes-corder history. He writes that it's an Austin era drum (wrong!)

If you can see I'm my pic, the green drum (thanks again mariosdrums!) Is a wood corder with fibes badge. Corders used a smaller strainer knob and a tone control from tama or others.

Even my wood shelled sft is a tad ringy.. But I like a ringy snare. I used to use a little bit of moongel on the glass snare when it got too ringy for certain music
