Since this is near me I'm thinking of negotiating a deal since I'm dying for a round badge set...

or maybe this under rated kit because it is indeed cheap:

The Gretsch set looks nice. My only concern would be the drums all seem to have yellowed about evenly but it may be tough to find a MATCHING floor tom. Probably not that hard to find one in silver sparkle (although it can be surprising how the supply of even more common colors of add-on drums seems to dry up the moment you start looking for one) but finding one with the same sort of fade to it would add another level of difficulty to the quest, unless such things don't concern you.

Ludwigs look nice too and currently at a good price. Same 3 ply shells as the more expensive models used. That silver mist wrap looks to still be silver which is a bit of a rarity as it often fades to a pinkish hue.

Gretsch RB floor toms tend to go high since so many people are looking for them. You'd probably pay at least as much for a 16" as that whole Ludwig set will go for....and at least twice that amount for a 14". But if you want a set of Round Badges those look like a decent deal for what's there.

You have to ask yourself if you're okay with either never finding the floor tom or getting one in a different condition/era than the rest of the drums. If so, that seems to be a decent price. Otherwise, the Standards are a great choice.

If you're "dying" for a RB kit, this one seems to be a good value for what it is:

That satin flame is a nice kit. I also have my re wrap RB set to sell if you are interested. In either case avoid one that has extra holes and so forth. Earlier this year I bought a round badge kit for $200.

So they are still around after starting at $1299 and being reduced for a few auctions - maybe I offer him $600 since there's no floor tom since they are local?

There is a member here selling a complete kit with hardware and is clean. User hardhat. There is your answer. Sell off the hardware and score the kit cheap.

My two cents

The drums are worth $1000 without the floor tom. The bd easy $500 and more, the tom $250-$300 and the snare $300+. I think it's a fare price even with the shipping added on. They're nice drums. Sure, you can find low priced deals out there but - if you're looking for 'these' drums.... this is a fare price, the drums are well worth the money.
