Easy one for the Rogers guys Last viewed: 17 hours ago

I bought this pinch plate off of ebay to replace a missing one on a power tone i have.If you look at the picture you will see one has a shelf that the other one does not have. I have several dynas and power tones and they all are just flat, throw and butt alike. Whats the story on the one with the shelf. It works fine on the butt, just curious.

Thanks

Just like in the real world, some butts aren't flat.

Ok, for the real answer. I have Dyna-Sonics from 61-84 and spaced out enough between to get a good accurate representation of many changes. I have one on a Dayton era 68 and a Fullerton Oval 75. Both parts are positively original. And both are on the throw.

Noted for future checking of my three Dyasonics that seem to fall into the period from '66 to '68. It will be interesting to see if any of mine have that plate on the throw-off side. Looks like a design that would have been quite useful on both sides of both Dynasonics and Powertones.

I've seen those on either end of a Rogers snare, but over the decades it's assumed that they get easily moved around.

I think the model with the ridge is an earlier design, the flat-backed style being later. When the change was made, I don't know.

My powertone and my 2 dynasonics have

The post 67 elongated throws and this piece won't lay flat

Unless Rogers USA Is upside down. It fits all butt plates fine.

I bought it off of ebay as a butt assembly but that doesn't

Mean they were always paired. I was just glad to find one,

Everyone that came up was pricey.
