I have a 5K double and love it as well.
I know they get a lot of hype; however if you spend some quality time with these pedals, you can really get just about any feel you want out of them, but it is not necessarily 'automatic'.
My double pedal is an older one with the changeable weights on the foot board and beater shaft. Couple this with the adjustable pedal height, beater angle and of course spring tension, you can do a lot! I don't use the beater weights on this pedal.
I have another older one (bought used) that I needed to get a new beater for, and I do use the beater weight on that one, but UNDER the pivot, not over between the pivot and beater head like you normally see them. This makes the beater head essentially lighter, and the shaft is shorter as I am tuning this one up for my old D-20 20" bass drum. (my RC kit is a 22" bass). I still have some tweaking to do, but I think this will be a fast and smooth operator when I'm done tweaking it...Walking
Oh, and they just don't break either, which is nice! (of course I just jinxed myself saying that DOH)

Great price for a great pedal (IMHO)
I have one, its my main pedal, I have the strap.
I bought one when they went down to $199.00.
I have played a 5000 as my main pedal for almost 20 years.
This 9000 is just crazy.
I believe the hype.
Even my bass player who doesn't play the drums very much got on it and was like "wow!".
The double bearing thing is totally trick.
Yea, it took me a while with the tweaking and adjusting, but I think I got it to where I like it. I have had the 9000 for a couple months now. I dig it!

I wasnt necessarily in the market for it but when I saw the $119 price on the GC website I couldnt refuse-and when I called the store to inquire about the condition and they told me they couldnt tell it from a new one I had to have it-and it helped when the budget director at home inquired about it and I was able to point to others that were way more expensive!!! Plus given the time of year I said it was something for my stocking :)
