Can you add pictures of the strainer and butt?

Your drum could be a Duplex but could also be a few others makers to they all used the same claws and strainers..But better photos of the butt and strainer would maybe pin point the drum down...See if you can see a sticker inside the shell this would also help I.D. the drum...Mikey

I think it's a Wurlitzer -circa 1920's. It's a "juvenile" drum. It's probably un-labled because it was likely sold through a mail order catalog like Sears & Roebuck. The shell could have been made by Leedy

Value on these drums is usually not very high. They have decorative value as a conversation piece but they are not practical for use. Yours is probably worth $100-$150 with the sticks and key.

There is/was one just like this on EBay awhile back -not as nice a condition as yours. I offered the seller a decent bid for it but was refused. As far as I know, it never sold.

It is most likely a Duplex since you found it in St. Louis, but it could be made by anybody. Hardware looks like Duplex - maybe Lyon & Healy. 5x12 is an unusual size. Value $100-150. I might be interested due to the size.

Too late! I have it in me clutches! And, yes, I paid the high-side of that valuation for it! Ihave been looking for it's little brother -a 10" shell with the same exact hardware, etc.

He sent it in the original box! I had to carefully remove the packing tape, etc. when it arrived. The drum is in excellent condition with a few scuffs. The heads are high-quality calfskin. The snares are red linen. The rims are stained-to-look-like-rosewood, but they are maple.

The fact that I have the drum, key, sticks and box as a set is really cool. It's the crown ***el of my tin drum collection at the moment!:Snow Flake:

That Key is probably the very key that I was looking for to fit my 1925 Wilson Brothers 16" snare drum a while back. It has these over-sized t-rod heads...

The key in my photo is not the correct key but it works.........it was a little too thick so I had to do a little cusomizing so it would turn on the t-rods.
