Your Rogers 9/72 drums were also made in Fullerton, California, so, if your drums and the Fullerton tom are both Swivomatic, (your 9/72 drums should not be Memriloc, but, a few Rogers owners did switch their drums from Swivomatic to the new hardware, it's rare, but, I have no pictures, just pointing that out) they will match real well. Both drums will be the same 5 ply shell.

Perfect, yeah, if your 9/72 kit is the same swivomatic (and it should) you have a very nice match.

9/72 Fullerton drums might be five ply, and ...... they could just as easily be three ply. You need to check. There will be some difference in sound. Perhaps, not enough to notice, but there will be a difference.

1973 Rogers catalogue specifies Three Ply shells.

Yikes, I do not want to lead anyone down the wrong path. It was my understanding that the early Ohio shells were 3 ply...later Ohio/Fullerton 5ply..obviously, the XP-8 were 8 ply. I, however, do not own any Rogers catalogs. I have a Dayton Rogers kit and an early Rogers Fullerton kit and both are 5 ply shells. Have you seen 3 ply Fullerton shell kits?

My Londoner V is a 9/72 with Swivo mounting. Basically, NOT all Fullertons are 9/72s but, all 9/72s ARE Fullertons...AND they sound great!!
