I am not sure exactly if there is a new rule about videos exactly but this one is worth sharing for sure!

Clapping Happy2 I saw a clip of this just this morning flipping channels. There is also a little boy named Johan that is pretty good. His videos are under jonahrocks on YouTube.
He's an adult now, but as a child, Tony Royster Jr. was a head-cutting monster. The first time I saw this video of Tony, I almost threw away my drumsticks.

Now, that's -scary-!

I agree Blair, sometimes less is more. I prefer a drummer with a solid groove rather than ridiculous chops!
The 'point' is; that's a 12 year old you're listening to. I don't expect a 12 year old to have the same taste, or level of maturity, as a much older, more experienced musician. Yes, it's a chops fest. But he can do it.
As old as some of you are who are casually commenting and passing judgement, can you perform even half of the moves Tony showed in that video? I don't think so. He was only 12, don't be so quick to judge. It may not be your cup of tea... but, at least he was able to execute extremely difficult and complex patterns on the drums which is much more than a lot of us more 'experienced' drummers will ever be able to play.
Credit where credit is due. The guy was a child prodigy. Regardless of whether I personally like the style or not, I have nothing but compliments for his raw talent and uncanny ability on the drums. Every one is entitled to express personal opinion, but 'sometimes', if you don't have something good to say, it's better to keep it to yourself. We're talking about kids here. Drummers that are/were, better players as children, than any of us long-in-the-tooth adults will ever be. Whether you like his particular style or not, that was an amazing display of ability.

I loved the Royster boy's playin.
That was fun. and real difficult. and a long time for a young tyke.
That kind of solo stuff is exciting.
