Have been thinking, maybe it's stupid, but that is why I am asking? Would you cut down tama toms ran as concert toms if you had doubles?? They are three tier swingstars??

When I was in the business selling Tama, Pearl and other Oriental drums during the 80's and 90's, nobody could have ever convinced me they would be collectible. Well, they are!

When I was beginning to play drums in the 60's, nobody could have convinced me that Rogers, Ludwig, Slingerland, Gretsch and Camco would be collectible. Well...............you know.

Well, from a purely vintage/collectible standpoint-no alterations. From a functional/useable standpoint-yes.I routed and put bottom rims on my concert tom 83 Superstars.Collectibility-nil.Sound/useability-outstanding!I also cut down the hair-band mounted toms on my 89 Rockstars with excellent results.

I am currently running 8-13 after a trio of 8" concert tom, I think that I will die with them, I am a drum rat. I use everything and feel guilty when I do get rid of. They already have holes from incorrect tom mounts.
