It's weird, because there's all these new ways for people to discuss all the other "issues" in life...forums, email, telephone, FaceBook, Twitter, etc.
But even with all those other available options for discussing trivia or world affairs or personal grievances, some people will still continue to come to a VINTAGE DRUM forum and use it, instead.
It's human nature, I guess. We're all drummers, so that's the foot in the door to start interacting, here. Beyond that, it's a matter of how well our parents raised us, as to how we handle ourselves outside of that common interest.
Most of the other drum forums I know about end up being like coffee clutches of people who discuss drums as an aside. Often, they are stages for people to market their new wares. It makes me appreciate the straight-forward, ON-topic, information-based threads and posts, here, even more than ever.
I understand that nobody's perfect, in that (or any other) regard. I can only speak for myself when I say that I joined this forum to discuss vintage drums with people because I love vintage drums...and I'm going to try and stay focused on that....
....you bunch of goofballs! :D
