I just came across this poor disabused snare and was wondering if by any chance it is a COB Pearl Jupiter that has seen better days or just an old Pearl steel snare. Or neither? Thanks!

I had to look it up in my Pearl file where I wrote/typed it down.

Jupiters had a Super Sensitive Strainer.
Mine in pic is a: (These are my notes.)
Pearl B4514L - L for 6 1/2" depth.
Not a Jupiter. Jupiter was like a SS strainer system.
Three stripes denote the Brass versions
"Gladstone" type strainer. Die Cast.
1978-1982
(B4514 being the 5" version in Brass ("B").
I wanted to make sure mine was a COB, so I stripped it:Dflowers2
I knew it was brass. Did it anyway.
