Anyone have a nifty way of silencing a noisy end cap on a Slingerland connsollette banana other than taping it down? Is there a way to tighten it up that I'm missing?
Thanks!

Show us a picture of the end, and I'll bet that I or someone else can give you an answer that might solve the problem in a minute.
Its just the cap end of the banana. You know...like the circular cap that sits at the left end of the tube.

...super glue? I know it is over simplified, but sometimes epoxy or super glue works best for these fixes.
I fix this problem with double stick tape...Mikey
I've never tried prying the cap(s) off of the ends of the tube. I wonder if a small flat blade screw driver could remove the caps. If they can be removed, there must be prongs or ears that could be spread further apart to restore a tighter fit for the cap(s). If that is not do-able, I would try the Superglue approach.
I just pulled a couple pieces of steel machine chips from my '65's, take the consollette completely apart and shake the tube to make sure nothings inside too.
Pry the caps off, clean the surfaces, put a thin bead of clear bathtub silicon around the outer edge of the cap, press it in, clean up any schmutz that may have oozed out, problem solved.
