C.O.B. 17 inch hoop? Last viewed: 2 days ago

Loading...

Awhile back I bought a huge lot of hoops and some had some odd sizes. Including a pair of 17 inch triple flange that are C.O.B. (magnet test). I am assuming from the size and that they are triple flange maybe Premier?

Not sure. Any info on what kind of drum uses a 17 inch hoop or the make of this hoop would be great. Here are some pics of one of the hoops:

Ludwig made 17" Tenor drums. I make them into floor toms! It's a bit harder to get 17" heads these days but you can get them.

And for what it's worth, I have 15 and 17 inch N.O.S. coated ambassadors....

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

My high school had a Keystone era 17" tenor drum (ten years ago). It had newer Coated Ambassadors top and bottom, and I must say, the tone from a 17" drum is very nice. I wish there were more 17" (and 15") floor toms out there.
