Coated Diplomats for reso? Last viewed: 17 hours ago

Anyone here use them on the reso side of their toms? I've been recommended by a friend of mine to get some Diplomats for the reso side of my Ludwig Hollywood kit as opposed to the coated Ambassadors that are on it currently. I just threw some Ambassadors on the batter side to replace the smooth Emperors that it came with, and I'm just curious the difference i would hear using the Dips vs Ambs.

Kits:
1966 Ludwig Hollywood Gold Sparkle Pearl 12/13/16/22

My standard go to for heads was emperors batter side, and diplomat resonant side. Unfortunately most shops around me don't stock diplomats anymore.

Dips are great reso head if they fit your drums.

Coated, white or clear, they will give the most resonance of any head I know of.

mind you, I only run Evans g1 on reso now
