I'm not sure what this is, probably a custom job, but since I only paid $40, I couldn't pass it up. It's a 4x14 and looks to be a maple shell. The seller was told it was a Slingerland shell cut down to make a snare. Who knows, but it's a pretty cool little drum.

I like that a lot. For $40 you can't go wrong on any wood snare. How are the bearing edges? Recut, matched? Even if that shell is a cut-down, it looks like you got yourself a nice piccolo there. How's it sound? With a Remo Diplomat, I bet it would be super responsive.

The edges are smooth and sharp. I haven't tried playing it yet, but just tapping on it lightly with a stick, I can tell it has a good snare response.
