I am trying to determine a selling price for my Camco 3 piece. Based on the badging it is a 1960's model from Oaklawn. According to the shop where it was purchased it was sent out to DW in the early 1990's to be refinished. It is now finished in Tony Williams bumble bee yellow. It has all original hardware and badging. There is a 13" top tom and a 16" floor tom and snare. There are some pictures below.

Well, Welcome to the Forum! Nice looking set! How long have you owned it? Do you know if it is 3 or 4 ply? Also is it 3 or 4 piece? I'am guessing the bass drum is a 22"? It would be difficult to estimate the value without detailed pictures of the interiors, bearing edges, and hardware including the hoops. I do know DW has never offered refinishing services, (not even on their own drums) unless this was a special case...but then they surely wouldn't have re-installed the bass drum badge backwards. Can you post additional photo's so we can see the condition of each drum?
Although your kit looks nice and has an expensive finish, it's been refinished. I'd guess in the $800-$1200 range.

Agree with Dolfan - the finish relegates it to a "player" but what a player. if you intend to keep playing and have only one kit, make it this one.

Yep... too bad about the finish. Camco's are sweet drums though.
I think that you were told a very nice drum set by the people who sold you the drums along with that improbable story. Having said that, I will never knock the quality and sounds from an Oaklawn Camco set. But, I will question the business ethics of the person or people who sold you the drums. I hope that you didn't pay more than the other folks have already stated for a value of this refinished set.
I disagree with all three of you. $800 to $1200.00 ? No Way! The least most valuable drum out of the 4 would be the 9 x13". Assuming there are no problems with the shell and it has all of it's original Camco hardware including the 12 fatty washers and factory hoops. I would say it would bring $300.00 regardless of the finish, even parted out by the gutter slugs totals more than that. I know the 14x22" BD, the 16x16" FT and the Aristocrat snare would easily bring more than the rack tom, each by themselves. $1200.00 would be the starting point. Heck, I bet whoever had them refinished paid at least 800.00 for the paint job, and that's gonna be a tough resale...If the paint was Hi-Gloss Piano Black w/clear Lacquer top coats, I would jump at the chance to buy them!

Camco parts are worth their weight in gold. Sold separately absolutely you could get more although I'm not sure how much more. The kit doesn't have a 20" bass drum or 14" which would bring far more than the standard 22" or 16" will. But as a kit it would be a tough sell. Been there, done that.
