Bought a super cheap Speed-King, and lucked out. Last viewed: 50 minutes ago

It's nice. No squeaks, I was actually looking forward to tearing it apart. I didn't realize how far they can be taken apart. Shipped in three pieces.

The beater looks old, sort of like multiple little cushion things sewn together. It doesn't say ludwig on the beater head rivet, but that's fine.

I love the old school, textured paint on the main body. Chrome is perfect, no pits.

Plays GREAT. Very natural feeling, responds instantly. Bulletproof design too, I can see why they last so long. Someone must have played the HECK Out of this thing. The writing is worn off the pedal, look closely and youll see, on the right side only basically.

Thanks everyone for pointing me towards one. I know this is a WFL, but it was affordable so I jumped on it. $33 shipped.

you did well on that. the wfl models are usually more expensive than the ludwig models. i paid a good bit more than that for my wfl speed king and was happy with the price. enjoy it!

Excellent price on a great pedal. As you say, they feel right and respond well.

the wfl model is a tad different than the rest of the speed kings. it sits either a little closer to the head or the other way around. its due to the part that butts up against the hoop being a different dimension than the ludwig speed kings.

Interesting, I will look for that and see what I see.

I figured, when I unboxed it and saw the WFL, that if push came to shove, someone here would trade a 70s one for this one. There's bound to be someone out there in the exact opposite situation as me, needing a WFL. I am happy for now though.

I heard a Squeak for the first time while I was trying and failing to play Take Five. haha

Those WFL's and Speed Kings are the only pedals worth owning/playing. You did great.

John

Too many great drums to list here!
