Blankets/towels left in drums? Last viewed: 3 hours ago

Hey Mick, Big fun hanging out with you today. Just want to publicly say that all the time and effort you put into practicing, is starting to show results. Every time I see you, you're playing/sounding a little better. Good solid progress man. I can see and hear it.

Hope you enjoyed playing the Hollywood kit. I love the sound of that kit. The J-fest has a rich, woody crack to it. Next time, I'll set-up the 50's Gretsch kit for you, that's a whole other sound...

Hey back atcha John. I appreciate the encouragement but it's still very humbling to sit across from a guy who's been playing for 50+ years and can move effortlessly from style to style without seeming to think about it first. However since you've been helping me out I now realize how some of my guitar students felt over the years. Same deal, execute 'til it's clean and tonefull and the speed will come, repeat.

I'm Gonna' hold you to setting up the Gretsch kit....or the Camcos....or the transition Ludwigs but you have to promise "if I break 'em I get to buy 'em!!:>)

Believe it or else!

When i buy a used kit and there is a pillow or what ever in the bass i take the time to remove what ever is inside and leave it there , ya never know if that mess is full of flea's or bed bugs and what not , i would rather not chance having a infestation i my shop .

... not much encouragement to let you play my drums! LOL

Next time you come over, just let me know which kit you want to play and I'll have it all set-up for you when you arrive. Excited

I would like to find little silica gel desiccant bags that could slide through the vent holes with a string on them, kind'a like a tea bag, so they could be easily removed and replaced without pulling off the drum head. Put them in for storage, transport or display... Yes Sir

Somebody invent that for me... http://www.uline.com/BL_1004/Silica-Gel-Desiccants

"Drum Dryers"

PACKET - Fast and extra adsorbent silica gel.

Meets FDA specifications for food and drug products.

Provides superior adsorption. Remains dry at maximum saturation.

Silica gel can adsorb 15% of its weight in water vapor in 2 hours.

Jim - Great idea... only, you'd have to add about 1000 of those little suckers to make a difference inside the drum. Those little buggers only weigh -1 gram-. Each packet absorbs 15% of its own weight in moisture, so what is 15% of 1 gram?????????? Any recovered 'snow-blowers' out there who can help with the gram based math? LOL

Ok, maybe not a 1000, but it'll take a lot of them to have any effect. It's a big space inside a 14x22.

Heard of a guy that buried his dog in one... Jumping2 lol
