I called the shop and they only have 80's NOS...

He said the wires were different in 1960's

I just looked and each one I own is different: a) Puresound 20 strand b) Puresound 16 strand c) Pearl 20 strand (COB) The great thing about the PT is that there is much less fussing about to get the snare right, compared to say a Supra or a Super. My local store doesn't sell Puresound or Ludwig, so I'd buy a Pearl - I use the "I" series on metal drums $00.02
