I got a call tonight about some Basso drums. The guy new nothing about drums. He owns a second hand store and saw my drums wanted add on cl. All I know is they are blue sparkle and have a gold rectangular badge with the word Basso in black letters. Any one know anything about these please let me know.

Anyone? Im going to look at these today at 10:00 Am. I guess I will study the wood and grain of the shells to determine if they are Asian or not. The guy said the hoops look different from most drums that he has seen. Could be a hoop with clips, could that be a clue to the age? The guy was nice enough to let me in the store today even though its closed on Monday. I cant find anything on the web about Basso drums. I will take a camera with and with his permission get some pictures.

Sounds like a odd one Jeff. Basso would be Italian or Latin so maybe a European brand? I love a good mystery and good luck!

I was thinking/hoping it would be Italian or Latin, European but my luck it will be a Pearl or Star made stencil kit or something from Sears, lol. The hihat cymbals might be the big score!

Well it should be cool to find out anyway. There's not much if anything out there on Basso. Just your post asking about them on a google search. LOL

So what all does the kit include? Yes could be hoop clip rims. That would be cool.

Glenn, its just a bass, snare and a hihat stand with cymbals. But since know one knows anything about it and its just a few miles from here and Im not snowed in (thank God) I just have to check it out. The man on the phone was super nice and was going to open the store just for me and he is not selling it until I get the first look.

And its not a complete kit, so #? dont count. LOL!

Hopefully pictures later.

Thank you!
