Anyone with a Slingerland Relaxon throne? Last viewed: 3 days ago

Hi there,

I just bought a Slingerland Relaxon throne (must be 70's).

A nice throne. Softly padded, very comortable and in a good condition. I just wonder if it is missing something. The seat just sticks on the threaded rod. There seems to be no screw to fasten it. But the thread rod itself just sticks in the base tube only fixed by the big nut. You can spindle it up and down only by holding the threaded rod with one hand otherwise the thread turns too. Rogers has a clamp there to fix it. But in no pic neither the catalog I can see anything there.

Any ideas?

Thanks Martin

Warning ... Avoid member statuscymbal here, vintage_collector on DFO , and americanpatriot10 on eBay. Email me for his name. All are the same shady guy who has burned me and a list of other members on both boards . He is also selling on Facebook too ..

I had the same exact throne back in the day. White cushion and all. Very comfortable. However...... for some reason the base of the wood seat has a hole drilled in it where the metal plate/collar screws on. The base plate and collar are welded together. One day the welds broke and the shaft rammed up through the seat cushion right into my keester. Not a great feeling. I don't know if the seat design ever changed. But that seat spooked me from then on. My Grandfather was a welder/plumber/steamfitter and welded the base solid again. And I checked it before and after every gig and practice session. Just to be sure. ;)
