PASS!!!! The bass drum, Tom & floor Tom all have generic lugs and hoops on them. Might be MIJ with Camco badges. Hard to tell w/o seeing them in person. Snare looks to be original but even if the shells are Camco on the rest it would cost a fortune to bring it back to original.

I noticed that too...how strange! Though the hoops looked like correct COBs to me. And the badge grommet looks original.

Is it possible that the original lugs all cracked and were replaced with generic? It also looks like the drums had contact paper on them at some point, so maybe the original lugs were lost. It would be worth finding out if the shells are original, and if so, were extra holes drilled to put those lugs on.

Those lugs smell fishy to me. The snares seems to be right but the rest its just fishy...The T's rods dont look like Camcos at all, but the brackets for the FT legs look right...what a misterious set...keep us posted!

The hoops are not Camco and neither are those floor tom brackets. The rail on a Camco is a two hole and the one mounted is a 4 hole. I'm still thinking it's a MIJ kit with Camco badges.

Steve - I thought those were the 'Tuxedo' lugs!???? Should it have the turret lugs?

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Turret lugs are Aristocrat. Tuxedo lugs are center mounted ala Club Date. The lugs and mounts in the picture don't look right for Camco.

Thanks for the advice. I decided not to go for this set. The seller recently bought them to flip, so he doesn't know the history. Nice guy. He removed a couple of heads while we were talking and described white painted interiors, 6 ply re-rings and 3 ply shells. Screw spacing inside is 'approximately 1 3/4 inches'. Not knowing Camco drums, my primary concern is the lugs. I can't find anything quite like them in any picture.

Thanks again for the quick replies. With the right lugs, this set would be in my car.

If dolfan say they are not original then I believe him, Camcos have round lugs

I vote for replaced lugs, etc. I've never seen an MIJ set with white painted interiors, which Camco had.

Never play it the same way once.

what's a camco lug cost? $10? i would only need like 48 of them. if the lugs are mij, thete's little chance the hole spacing would match.

Agree with the other nay-sayers....there's something very odd here, unless someone commissioned a Camco kit with generic lugs (which seems unlikely). Caveat emptor and all that.
