I don't use them but it's my understanding that they are designed to be used as chops building exercise sticks on a practice pad. I don't think the intent was to ever use them on a real drum.

Good call, Brian. Save your drums and cymbals a lot of unnecessary wear and tear. Unless you have amazing control... it's only a matter of time before you side-swipe a favorite cymbal the wrong way and do permanent damage to it. Not that it can't happen with wood, but it's much more likely with metal!

Jeez, John, you are so right! My Depends had quite an active session there! You are very insightful! I don't have "amazing control". I got back from the gym, read everyone's replies and went through another workout! I swear that next time I have a less than stellar idea, I'll ask you guys first! Seriously though, thanks for all the replies.
