Advice on Selling a Kit

Loading...

I know it's hard, if not impossible to anticipate what a market will look like in the future, but I'd like some feedback on a potential kit sale. I have the 120th anniversary Gretsch kit in champagne sparkle with the rail mount. I'm considering selling it for 2 reasons: I have an rb with the sizes and sound I'll always preferring playing, and I'd like a 60's Slingerland kit. BUT, I'm wondering if the anniversary kit--being 1 of only 120--will become a collectible and I would later regret selling it. Any thoughts? I realize it's tough to determine, but I'm trying to gauge the market.

Here's the kit info.

Seems to me that if there are only 120 of these - it is a great investment that will only appreciate even more in years to come. If you keep it long enough you could buy another kit after the sale and still have more money left ov......wait a minute - that's already the case!

Perhaps consider other anniversary kits that were put out in, say the 80s - then compare and see what they have done in value.

Not sure how much you paid for it - but seems to me, if you sell it now or later - you will likely have money left over after your 60s Slinger acquisition as the market has dragged down their values considerably.

Wait - it just hit me! WOW - I am about to sell a mid 60s Stage Band 13,15,22 - that are in rare sizes. It will need some work (re-paint or a wrap, refinishing), but perhaps my price will allow you to acquire your 60s Slinger without selling your Gretsch!

Let me know if you are interested in pics and price.

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

I would not sell the Gretsch kit. As time moves on will be hard to find another.

Sadly the "60s" Slingerlands are selling for chump change. Buy them up if you can. I am. Damn fine drums. Any questions just holler.
