I would say that kit might be late 50's, look at the muffler mount on the 13 and the push button leg mounts on the floor, very early 60's at best. As for the yellowing, I think it adds character and for me it would be a plus. I think the $1000 price is in the ballpark
About a 60's Slingerland ! Last viewed: 3 hours ago
I was thinking 1963 or before due to the lack of badges and the pushbutton mounts on the floor tom. Could easily be 1964. Either way, very nice drums.

your correct it is in that time frame ballpark. the bass drum would have different t rods and rim claws if in the 50's time frame.
Thanks everyone for all theses thoughts about this drums !
Actually it comes from the US, I found it from this website :
http://www.vintagedrumsandmore.com/slingerkit.html
So, if I follow your indications and advices, 1500$ (+300$ shipping and more or less 300$ of taxes...) is too much for this ??? Maybe I can negociate the price with the owner...
But well, so I guess I have to re-think about it...
Maybe you can give me some others advices and good places to buy the vintage drums of my dream !
As you might guess, I'm looking for a Ludwig or Slingerland from the 60s...
So if you have links or advices, I will take it all ! :D
(For information, I actually have a Grestch Catalina Club Rock with a 26" bass drum, 13x9 and 16x16, 18x16 toms and a 14x5 snare, I like it well, but it's quite of a "discount" Grestch...)
Thanks !
Hi,
Just wanted to say that I've bought from Jim Glay, the owner of those drums, before and he was very pleasant to deal with. No problems at all. I'm sure he would take additional pictures for you if you wanted. It would be worth contacting him and asking if he is at all negotiable on the price. That kit has been listed for a long time on the website. Those drums will sound fantastic and, for the right price, you will not be disappointed.
Good luck with your search and contact Jim and see what he has to say,
James
That price is right in the retail range as far as I'm concerned and I have no reason to say it's too high. From what James says it sounds like getting additional photos and descriptions would be no problem. That price is about right from a retail standpoint so see what you can do about working it down a bit if you want to pursue it. Good luck and if you get more photos please share with us.

I'm waiting for some extra pictures that I will share with you.
Do you know where else I could find a Ludwig or Slingerland of the 60s, maybe with a 24 or 26 bass drum (my big dream !) ?
Please share your secret links with me ! :D
MERCI !

Hi, since you are in France it is worth having a look at Rusty drums in the UK it would be much cheaper for shipping and Mark Jeffs who runs it is a really nice man to deal with.
He ships kits directly from the USA and always has good interesting kits. I will put a link below, I'm sure he will have plenty you would like, I have bought several drums from him.
Good luck
