A Very Interesting Find Last viewed: 12 hours ago

Here is an interesting item which was given to me. A friend of mine bought a Ludwig kit last year from the 60's. He had all the usual bits and pieces like blocks cow bells chimes plus a nice set of drums. This is something ive never seen before or even owned until now. Actually was fitted to Ludwig flush base stand. Has anyone got any ideas on maker etc etc. It does fit on most stands from the 60's era. Obviously it has rivets and works well. Screws on top of stand as a sizzle for any cymbal. Ill leave it to the experts to give us a clue. Also can extend or just use one arm. Saves drilling a cymbal for rivets or dangling a chain I suppose. Any sizzlers out there.

Camco (Oaklawn era) offered this as a cymbal attachment during the 1960s. Nothing special just a alternative to keep you from drilling your beloved K cymbals.

I bought one of those in 1969 for the little cymbal that came with my Whitehall set. I remember it was winter and cold , and I walked from the First Methodist church to a music store in downtown Birmingham AL and bought it. I think it was around $2 . Big money for a 12 year old kid. I still have the round part the sizzler arms slid in.

Aah...the Cymbal Sizzler! I remember it well from my youth in the late 60's. These are pretty cool and you'd be surprised what sellers have been trying to get for them! Hang onto it. You never know when you might need it!

I also had one back in the 60s, While certainly useful is you not want to drill holes, I never felt they sounded as good as the real thing.

Ive just been researching here in the UK. Here it was called The Rivettor. Love the title. Here is a pic from the Stratford drums page by Besson UK.
