A rare look at a 1968-70 Gretsch RB Model 4155 snare drum...

Yes, I know a pretty basic looking Gretsch RB snare drum and I hate that word "rare" but, I'll say it anyway... here is a rare 100% all original 1968-70 Model 4155 8-lug 5x14 snare drum in factory "hand rubbed walnut finish" which is not to be confused with a typical wrapped Model 4157 8-lug snare drum.

Notice my serial number 105507 which I believe is somewhere around 1968 to 1970... late RB production.

I posted this to help uncover if anybody else here has a 1968-70 "4155" to post or can shed some light on the 1968-70 "4155" 8-lug snare drum?

I think the more we know & understand about the 1968-70 RB period the more likely we will discover more information about the mysterious & mystifying Gretsch RB natural maple finish drum sets & snares if they exist.

I don't buy it! An easy fake job by even the least talented. Until Fred Gretsch posts an acknowledgement on his FaceBook page I say they don't exist... Osahead3

Sorry brother but being jealous of my vintage bop kit collection will only make you sick... and you really don't need the extra stress.

My advice for you is to stay on target... which is learning and understanding about vintage drums.
