At any point Mikey could come on here and post a reply. I'm guessing he's reading this. An email to the buyer apologizing for the delay takes a minute or two. I don't get it. If it were me I'd be going apesh*t by now. Chewie:

I am kinda new to the forum but i have sold and pirchased on here without a hitch. i admit i did not do a search of

Mikey777 before i sent him money, may i remind you all that:

I placed and add looking for vistalite concert toms

He answered the add and then emailed me very quickly I might add....

We struck a deal, i paid

Now no communication whatsoever....

I do not see why i should not be able to trust someone with vintage drum guru under their heading..presumanly a title given by the admin of this wonderful site!??!

On th very top of the for sale listings is a sticky called know who you are dealing with, it also has a link to a listing from sellers stating what they sell etc...

I searched there for mikey and this is what i found:

MIKEY777

Re: Before you buy on VDF - Read This

This is great..#1--What i sell==vintage drum parts,shells[center][/CENTER#2--how fast you ship===with in a few days#3--the types of payment--paypal is the best but m.o. will work for me#4.your ebay I.D.--ahldrums77 [i also give that to members before we do deals with photos]#5 a web site URL--don't have one....Mikey

Now, why on earth would the admin allow this to remain when we all know that he is very slow to ship and there are threeads dedicated to the drama created by his very poor methods of sellng?

It is easy to lay blame on me by not finding a thread where he has not shipped parts to people and in other words ripped them off! It IS there, i just did not find it beforehand.

But I have to ask why the admin and other senior members alow this to happen

Cant we have another link to sellers who can NOT be trusted and that would not be adviseable to do business with?

That would have certainly helped me in my present situation.

Just saying!

As you have seen here and elsewhere, some are delighted to do business with Mikey and Blair and Jstix and Purdy and Kevins and Ludwigdude and Slingerland and Jaye and Precision and Jammin Sam and Guitar Center and eBay and Pooder and Lee County Music and me and you and all the others here. But, there are some that absolutely despise these individuals for reasons known only to themselves. It would be a bad unproductive discussion if that were to surface. He said she said they said. What one is willing to deal with is not necessarily on par with what another might tolerate. Absolute black and white across the board is not welcome here and the members certainly cannot agree upon what is proper and what is not. Read some of these threads and this will be clear.

That's my two cents.

I agree, the list of users not to deal ( or seriously consider to deal) with,

would be appreciated.

Well the reasons would be that he was quick to take my money, but never answered one request for a tracking number, and three weeks later....still no drums? Or a tracking number, or proof that they were even shipped! I feel like I have been ripped off! Easy to see why his account has been closed on eBay as well.. Very simply, that is no way to do business! That is why i filed with paypal to get a refund! Funny how most people on here want to praise his actions, and we are supposed to sit idly by and wait, sometimes months...for items that we paid for! Geez!

Wayne I feel your pain. After my ordeal of not getting a refund or the correct parts, I started to PM folks whenever he'd answer someone's wanted ad. I was just trying to warn potential customers of going through what I went though. This was all done in private so I don't feel too bad about it.

I gave up on this place for awhile and went to Drumforum. I did come back because I still like this place. BUT, there is no excuse to defend people who take other people's money without providing the goods. Absolutely no excuse. NO EXCUSE! Quit defending the guy. He's not coming through and he's taking people's money in the process. It is not Wayne's fault either. If someone has a high post count, has a lot of followers and gets a lot of praise then why would someone automatically start asking questions about this person as a seller? If you go to the post that Wayne linked to and also go to the feedback thread, you'll see that Mikey has a good record (on paper).

Also, good for you in going through paypal and fighting it. I wish I had done that. You'll get your money back and can put this whole thing behind you.

Also, I'm not bashing any of you. Just trying to get the pressure off the OP. It aint his fault! I wouldn't do a search on Purdie or Backbeat either if I was a newbie coming on here (which I was last year). If you've been here for awhile and have a good record and post alot and have decent feedback in the feedback thread, then I don't think its that crazy to assume you'll get an honest deal.

Sorry for the rant.

if you payed with pay pal open a dispute they will refund your money it will take a month or so but you will get it back, im sorry to here this happening but its always been buyer beware! i don't know the guy mikey 777 but i've had my experience here with a seller who shipped some but not all then i never heard from him again, so i say when there is a problem on this site with sales it should go in to account suspension till all is sorted out...

waynegrassfield!

Allow me to make a few comments here: The "Vintage Drum Guru" title has NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING, to do with anything other than one's post count... which by the way is part of the software that we are currently using for this site/forum. David and I have always thought those "titles" to be DUMB, and not needed. But, they come with the software... for now. Interestingly, we are almost ready to revamp this site as there is a better, faster, and more powerful version available. It is going to cost a few bucks, and take some time to implement... but we are doing it! We are going to convert to version 5 with mobile capability. Maybe... we can ELIMINATE those stupid titles! Regarding your experience with buying on the VDF:

We offer this as a COURTESY to our valued members, and that is all it is. We.. ( the admin/mod ) .. don't have the time, manpower, or compensation to keep track of every transaction. That doesn't mean that we aren't concerned when there are problems though!.. but .. we really do depend on this courtesy to buy, sell, and trade between our members to be self policed. When a "seller" gets called out enough, well... no one will bother with him anymore, and that is that. It truly is Caveat Emptor here! That said, and regarding MIKEY777:

He has had many excellent transactions here... and had what seems to be too many not so excellent transactions here, as I think you might attest. That is regrettable of course, and we don't condone it. It seems that he eventually comes through either with the parts or cash, and usually his mea culpa on what happened. Results are then posted on the yay or nay, and that's that. I don't personally think that MIKEY777 ever means or intends to rip anybody off.. however .. I also think that he needs to get a better grip on HOW he handles his business as there have been a few too many of this type complaint as of late. Regardless...

You have every right to your parts/drums, or your money back if that is what you want. I do believe that MIKEY777 will come through for you eventually. I also think that we have had a few too many "problems" here with his selling/delivering style, so yeah... that is going to have to be addressed. In the interim though, I'm sure he will be in touch with you, as to just blatently STEAL has never been his style.
