70's Slingerland w snare Last viewed: 11 hours ago

I am looking at a used Slingland kit at my music shop today

Can anyone tell me what to look for as far as good or bad Slingerlands

The drums are standard sizes natural finish . Any particular badges better than others. ? It's a 5 pc shell w snare. The Tom

Mounts are the L tube like (pearl) Any idea on value?

Aaaaarrrrggggghhhhh! Back away unless someone is giving them to you for free. Those are not real Slingerland drums (to anyone who loves Slingies). Slingerland drums from the HSS era were made in 1990--1994 with those horrible plumbing pipe tom arms. The Spirit an Artist series were Asian imports. The Lite series were decent Jasper Shell US-made drums, but still not "real" Slingies. If they are pre 1980 American-made Slingerlands that have been defiled by someone adding the plumbing pipes to them, they might be candidates for restoration to original condition.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Defiled meaning modified?

U mean they might not be 70's as defined. I guess they may not be USA also
