The gaskets are a good indicator that the spurs were added in the last 10 years or so.

Maybe I'm crazy, but in the close up it looks like there is a round wooden plug from where the curved spur hole should be. That bass drum should have the curved if I'm not mistaken.

your not crazy jay..there is definatley another hole there. but it is not plugged. after looking real close i can see where the curved spur indented the wood on the one side of the hole....also, mkelly....does the fact that the rack mount has a gasket make that a add on too?????[Attachment: 102879]

The gasket would be correct for the tom mount. Although this particular mount is a later year replacement. It has notches in it for a memory lock like they used on the Modular mounts. Also, the wing bolt is not correct on that tom mount. Looks like it's seen better days anyway. You can find replacements for these and the spurs on ebay. You can also still buy the tom mount new from a Ludwig dealer. I don't believe they have discontinued it yet. Even if they have, they are not hard to find as they made them for decades. The original spurs look like they would be the smaller 5/16" curved spurs due to the size of the holes that are covered by those added on ones. Those have been discontinued for years, replaced by the larger 1/2" ones, but can be had again from ebay or maybe a member here has a spare set they would part with.
