Over on the Slingerland quality thread "LandenLarry" had the idea of a poll...so here is an attempt (hopefully fun) at a simple poll. Please respond with your answer to the following question:

Thats tough. I would proudly own any of them. Rogers, Camco and Gretsch would be my first choices I think. Kent would be the last.
Well...Leedy and Slingerland's quality in the 60's would be the same.....since they were one in the same company by then.
Gretsch drums sounded great but not the greatest hardware......same with Ludwig and Singerland/Leedy. Never was a fan of Camco, same issues with Gretsch...cheesey hardware.
If I was to have a top pic for 60's drums overall, I would say it would be a tie with American Rogers and Sonor (yes I know Sonor is German...lol!). (English Rogers were similar but not the same as the american drums) Both made great quality hardware and drums then. Premier would be a close third in my book as well.....
As for drum hardware, not stands or thrones, my Camcos have the original hoops, lugs, tom mounts and spurs. These drums have had the crap gigged out of them since they were new ine the early 60s. Everything still works well and looks good.
I can't vote, I don't remember the sixties......
I will be the token Ludwig guy. I'm a 3rd generation Ludwig player/lover.
*** but I'm really digging this Slingerland Kit I picked up... still waiting on the Aquarian bass drum heads...couldn't resist on sneaking a peek at my new tubs!
