Yes they did have serials. However, this particular cymbal does not.
It is my understanding that paiste had some Stambul 65s around that they just stamped as 505s (Black ink) - and that would be an example of another 505 with no serial (unless they had already serialized it as a Stambul).
I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!
