I have a custom set I ordered in Dec of '89 and got em in April of '90. Model GM 44xx, serial #'s 42xxx. Two, rectangle badges on tom toms and one on the Bass. Hope this helps.

So unfortunately the set is not 80's, but as I've said it's still a jasper, and it looks and sounds fantastic..the year doesn't matter now.

Congrats, play the heck out of them.
(My surmise on the Techware was solely based on deciphering the blurry pictures and comparing to my stuff. Looks right in the auction to my tired eyes. Moot point now)
