1970 Acrolite Blank Badge Last viewed: 19 hours ago

Hi, all - I recently picked up a nice, clean Acrolite. The badge is blank (no serial number) and the date stamp inside reads October 1970. That's consistent with the dating guides I've seen. Question: do these "blank badge" Acrolites have any special collectors value? Or is mine just another lovely Acrolite to add to the collection? Thanks!

Quite a few blank B/O badged snare/drums/kits were produced in late 70. There are more than a few opinions as to why Ludwig used these the way they did. Unfortunately the "blank badge" drums do not have any more collectible value than the serial numbered ones.

Now if your drum was a 6.5" deep Acro, it would be a whole different story.

1976 Ludwig Stainless Steel "Bop" (12,14,18)
1998 Ayotte "Ray Era" Wood Hoop Copper Sparkle (10,12,14,16,20)

Thanks very much for your reply. I haven't come across a 'blank badge' Acrolite before, so it sparked my curiosity. - Tom
