Hey, thanks for the input guys! I'm taking some more detailed photos right now. Here are some of the rack tom. Will do the floor tom and kick next.

Eye Ball

Those are absolutely beautiful my friend!! Unless you are starving and need money, I'd hang on to those for quite sometime! I can't speak of concrete value, but I would agree that the low end has to be around $1500 for the 3. Thanks for sharing those!!

boys, boys, that's second gen oyster black pearl with the translucent pearls (you can see the wood showing, it makes it right) bowling ball you cant see wood showing and no pearl at all just linoleum, it is its predecessor though ....value not quite as rare as middle 60's o.b.p. but still a good buy, in today's market rare sizes

you would do good to hold on to them and see what the spring market will do but my take is, its a buyers market.

and there mostly deep pocket dealers who will sit on them with a buy it now of 1800 or more, but as a players kit it looks and I'll bet it sounds sweet....good luck I had a holly wood it that wrap and could not get over 1200 for it, it was as nice as yours...

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone! I really appreciate the info too. You guys rock. And yeah, it really is a beautiful kit... and sounds great too!

After reading your comments, it's just kind of confirmed what my gut has been telling me all along- I should probably keep them! I have yet to see another 20/12/14 set in this finish, much less with matching dates on all the drums. It's also nice to actually be able to put some kind of monetary value on them, as I really wasn't sure. But yeah, I don't think they're going anywhere!

Anyway, thanks again guys! This is fun. :)

If that is not the kit you hold on too I would love to see your other kits! So cool. Those sizes are probably even more rare closer to 1970 due to everyone going to the larger drums in general. Certainly would not take less then $1500 for that wrap, in that configuration and in that condition. I have also read a lot of posts about the first clear interior Ludwigs of that time sounding the best.

1964 Ludwig Downbeat Kit Champagne Sparkle
1964 Ludwig Jazz Combo Kit Gold Sparkle

1971 Slingerland 13,16,22 in Black Sparkle

Don't know much @ the wrap, but the kit looks great. I love the Downbeat setup & think it is more collectible than a Hollywood or other more typical setup. I'd try to find the matching J-Fest myself, a spendy prospect; however, it'll increase value above what you pay for it. Whenever I list a collector quality kit I don't budge much from the asking price, which is high, & wait for the right buyer to come along.

Skapunk : I've also heard more than once that the late 60's-early 70's clear interiors a superior to the white.
