The hardware is nickle plated, and should shine up nicely with a good polishing. As far as what the guide says on the value of the drum......I think its way off. This is considered a school or student drum, and by the condition shown, it looks it! In the condition its in, its probably worth about $100 tops.

It does sound fantastic. Really nice quiet definition, sounds amazing with brushwork as well. Also it does't have nearlyquite as many dings as my crap camera and flourescant lighting make it appear to. Thanks for the comments!

Sure thats not a 6" ? I would think more than a hundred.

As for cleaning the metal, I use simply Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound. It's cheap and very effective, leaving a brilliant shine and protection to boot. I use a detailing brush, the battery operated automotive type, and some clean cotton rags. I also put just a few drops of water on the surface of the compound to keep it moist. I dip the ends of my brush head right into the can and polish away. It is a tad bit messy, but the results are great. Many people just soak in Dawn, or something like that, but I feel it leaves the opportunity for water to remain inside the screw holes and corroding the lug or screw, or both.

For the shell, simply lemon oil or even, for that finish, a furniture treatment, as long as it's not too sticky and attracts dust.

For the tension rods, I use a 3-000 steel wool pad, a screw gun with a Cannon key and mineral oil. Pour a few, and I do mean a few, adding more as needed drops of oil on the wool and run the screw in and out of it a few times, turn the swivel nut with large end out toward the open and run it all the way down. Let it rotate a few times as well and run it back off. This gets the crud off of them as well, and lubes everything up nicely.

I haven't measured yet, but I found an old catalog with it in it that says it was only sold in a 5.5x14 and 5.5x15

I think more than $100 too. It does sound fantastic, and I'm having trouble finding any others out there. That may or may not be a good thing though.

That snare's in pretty nice shape--should clean up pretty easy. I'd definitely put it in the $150-$200 range. It's an 8-lugger, no?.......marko

Considering that it is an 8 lugged drum, I'd venture to say an easy $200.

You guys are all off..that is a $350 snare.
