Good morning, I have a 1966 4 piece Slingerland kit and was curious if it has any value to it other than my personal value being my first kit. Any help is appreciated. Dano[Attachment: 49699]
1966 Slingerland kit Last viewed: 3 days ago
Welcome Dano
The set isn't garbage, nor is it worth a million dollars. It's not the most desireable wrap, but should still be a great set to play. I have a 1965 Slingerland with similar set up and wouldn't trade it for anything. As to market value - I'll let someone else chime in.
Dano, nice kit your color is called Red satin flame pearl, are the sizes 14x20, 9x13, 16x16 ,? can you take a pic of the snare drum show the snare strainer so I can tell you the model it is. you have the slingerland hardware it brings decent money on ebay,
Its your first kit so you know what that value is. I know your are just looking for a general value on it. Im here to say what ever you do do not sell it. You can never have a first kit again. And I like the red satin flame, put on some heat misser hair and rock out!

Thank you!

Just toss this out for you... others may disagree.
$800 for just the drums. Flat bottom stands bring in the $70 range. Vintage throne brings about the same.
Put the drums back together complete you might bump it up over a grand.. maybe.
Nice kit.Yes Sir

Slingy kits are like Rodney Dangerfield, they get no respect, (in the marketplace.) The best way to get a feel for what the current market prices are for your kit (what people are willing to pay,) can be had by watching sales of similar kits on ebay. -Not- what the sellers are asking for them, but what people are actually paying. (sold kits.)
I don't know why, but Slingy kits never seem to command the same price as an equivalent Ludwig kit, or Rogers kit from the same period. Forget about comparing a Slingy outfit to Gretsch, those round badge kits outperform just about everything else price-wise. Watch ebay for a bit. You'll get a good bead as to what a good/fair asking price is.
Great old kit, I really love the finish. Best of luck with your sale.

Yep... the last two 1966 Slingerland sets that sold on ebay sold for $795 and $800.
That's what I based that guess on...

I sold a kit like this last year, same finish, no snare or stands but was a 12,13,16,20 configuration that was in great shape. For the four pieces I got $950.00. Hope this helps.
