Sweet looking kit! IMHO WMP never "yellows". It only "mellows" with time.

This is the kit that sold on eBay? If so, I was drooling over it! Brought back memories of my first Slingerland catalog, 1967, with the GK 1N proudly shown in Marine Pearl with matching Artist snare drum!

As to that hole in the snare shell, this was an older RK drum with clamshell strainer and butt, which was converted to a Zoomatic and Leedy butt. The eBay seller was offering the snare separately and told about the conversion.

As to the selling price of the 3pc... it was fairly inexpensive and reinforced the point that Slingerland's just aren't selling for what the other USA drums are getting. A great deal for the buyer, though!

Congrats on your acquisition of this excellent GK 1N!

Yup... he was selling it on DFO also. I grabbed it as quick as I saw it. I don't know why the Slingerland market is down compared to other brands, but fine with me. I love the sound of old Slingy's. A perfect companion to my Gretsch fettish.

Various DW, Premier and Yamaha drums
