I haven't posted in a while but just setup my "Grail Kit"..This is probably the nicest condition vintage kit I have ever owned. My Mod Orange 68's were a close second. I had to give up a good amount of my collection to make this happen(still am)...All of the serial numbers including the Jazz Fest are less than 100 digits apart. In fact the 22,13,16 are 30 digits apart. Since my birth year is 64 and this is my favorite finish it's the kit I have wanted for a long time. I have to give a world of thanks to Gary Bender from Drum Factory for making this happen. I'm sure he could have gotten more money shipping it overseas but decided to work out a deal with me instead. The set is immaculate and was equipped with new heads all around, and even tuned up nicely...I even got the Buck Rogers snare stand and Ringo Hi Hat stand to go with it from him at great prices. He also was gracious enough to sell me his hand painted Russ Lease Beatles head that he just got in and waited a long time for. If you guys ever get a chance to check out his stuff you'll be blown away by the quality. I sold him a near mint Oyster Blue last year and that's how this all started. Anyway, here are a couple of pics....the set is equipped with Zildjian A's from the 50's.

An incredible kit! Enjoy them for years to come. The addition of the correct hardware is icing on the cake! Thanks for posting the great pictures!

Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp
once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
doesn't get any nicer than that! beautiful kit that's a complete package. that would be a thrill to look at and play.

Thanks Guys....it's been a long time searching for this kit...I've owned a mint 67 in the finish, a players grade 64'...and now this. I never thought it would happen. I'm going to take good care of this one!!
Fantastic! Take good care of them but also PLAY THEM!
So, are you starting a Beatles tribute band?
Not bad .. lol
The Ludwig logo looks odd to me on bass head. Maybe that was an early 60s version?
They are in the home studio right now..they are getting their virgin run today. It's going to e my teaching set for the day. They are definitely going to get played!! A lot!!!

The head was made off of an original Beatles head that Russ Lease owns. He hand paints the whole thing including the Ludwig on top. Russ has been asked to recreate the heads for the Grammy Museum. I have never met Russ, but he's a serious Beatles guy. Here's a link with the head story
