1956 Slingerland Radio Kings Last viewed: 1 day ago

I am reluctantly selling my 1956 Slingerland Gene Krupa Deluxe Radio King Ensemble (1-N) in classy Black Diamond Pearl finish (22/16/13/14sn sizes). This kit is in original, non-restored condition and it looks and sounds as great as 1950's Radio Kings should! There are no extra holes or issues of any kind on this beautiful kit. Snare and bass drum have original untouched black & gold pre-serial Chicago badges, while rack and floor toms have no badges or air holes. These drums were all born together and lived much of their life in storage. I have owned these for 3 years and played countless shows on them. Someone is going to score a very special kit. Kit can be detailed to look brand new, but I preferred to play it as is with a little mojo. More pictures available by email.

$1600 + shipping...to VDF members only! NO TRADES. Message me if interested.

Bass drum - 22x14 w/original full inlay on both hoops, original consolette tom holder (missing some chrome), original double cymbal arm holders (no L-arms, though), original Radio King leg holders and legs. Wrap is in great shape with very light surface scratches (can be polished out). Both heads are vintage Remo Ambassador.

Floor tom - 16x16 w/original COB stick saver hoops, original Radio King floor tom legs holders and legs, and original 2-pad tone control. Wrap is in great shape with some checking in wrap (really hard to see, though). Both heads are vintage Remo Ambassador.

Rack tom - 13x9 w/original COB stick saver hoops, original 2-pad tone control, and original diamond plate (missing some chrome). Wrap is nice shape with small area of very light rash. Both heads are vintage Remo Ambassador.

Snare - 14x5.5 Super Gene Krupa Radio King w/original COB stick saver hoops, original 2-pad tone control, original clamshell strainer and butt (w/replacement strainer handle). Strainer is dialed in and works great! Shell is 1-ply steam bent maple. Wires are extended-length Puresound vintage series (original wires also included). Wrap is in nice shape. Both heads are vintage Remo Ambassador.

Would you post few pics with a lug removed so that we can assess the degree of wrap darkening?

Is there a date stamp?

No visible date stamps. Here are a few more pics.

Today might have been the first time a lug was taken off of this thing. As mentioned, it is very original.
