John's a stand up guy and does great work. I thought about picking up this kit several times because I really wanted a 26" bass drum. I finally got one when I picked up my '49 Leedy kit. There's nothing like the thunder of a 26 incher, right?!? Nice kit.

Wah, wah, I miss them already! CryBaby

Kidding aside, the drums could not have gone to a better home or to a nicer guy. Enjoy them for many years to come, Josh. I'm happy they ended up in your hands.

I earned my living as a graphic artist for 22 years. I created both of the bass drum graphics in Photoshop and printed them on clear plastic label stock/sticky on the back. The logos can be removed or reused. I just wanted the drums to have a real 'American Made' look and feel to them. Nothing is more 'American' than a bald eagle so I grabbed a photo of one, dropped out the background, silhouetted it, filled it in with Black and, Viola! Eagle logo. The Ludwig logo I assembled from other bits and pieces, it came out great even if I do say so myself. I like the way the bass drum head came out.

John, I made a Stewart logo once using that clear sticky paper and turned out great, nothing as detailed as what you did just saying that stuff works pretty good.

Those drums are just stunning! Is it hard to play with the tall wood hoops sticking up on the toms?

Not an issue at all. They play just like any other kit with 'normal' metal hoops. I never do rim-shots on the toms so I never had to get my sticks/hands low enough to catch the rims. They do not get in the way or force you to adjust your angle of attack. Play normally.

I have to stop talking, I don't want to hi-jack, Josh's thread!
