From Kona

Kevin - I see it in the 76 Catalog - I don't see it in the 77 - I don't have access to the 75.

Yep, I think they came and went in '76, Gary...

That helicoil might do the trick for the leg mount.

I have had some good luck finding replacement wing screws from this seller on Ebay ..... loria398

That's a nice drum. I just played my Slingerland set out with the 18" floor tom. It does thunder. I have the same problem with one of my leg mounts. The other 3 have the heli coil inserts. Looks like the insert fell out of one of mine. I have been trying to find someone who could put a insert in for me. Auto shop maybe. Just don't want to spend $20 for the heli coil kit for one insert.or if I could just find one 3/8" insert I might could get it to fit myself. That is a nice big maple shell you have there ! I like mine. It would make a nice little bass drum. I could do that with mine and use the 13" as a up tom and the 14" or 15" as the floor. That set looks nice skapunkedge. You have a pic of it finished ?

Nice drum Gary. The denim wrap is so cool. I love big floor toms!! I have a 20" floor tom that sounds like thunder! I've always like bigger drums so fits me well. Have fun with that one. Hoops are pretty easy to find if you want a original stick saver.

I wouldn't use this floor tom for a bass drum, the wrap is easily damaged and would absorb moisture being so close to the ground.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Vibes - $20 is not bad at all if you can fix the leg support. I put a helicoil in a Gretsch drum part a while back and then taped it to fit the screw - worked great. Easy if you have a tap n' die set. I bought a cheap set at Home Depot years ago.

I have it for sale on FB right now. Even though it needs some parts I think maybe someone may have a project already on the go and would like to have an 18. I'm carefully cleaning it but that's about all I will do unless it doesn't sell.

Did you know AMC did a denim car interior in the 70's? How cool would it have been to put your denim Slingerland into your Levi's Gremlin?
