Where can I buy some drum heads to fit the WFL Victory Model snare drum? I would think they would need to be calf skin to stretch that much.

At your music store? Will the drum not take regular heads?
Something is very wrong with that picture. Lugs do not belong to it. It has pegs for single tension rods !i
How do you apply tension ? Hopps bolted to lugs prevent movement !i
that shell should take conventional heads.

I'm sorry I should have been more descriptive.
This is the Victory Model WFL Snare drum. It use's reverse tension to tighten the heads. The lugs actually screw into the shell and directly into the top and bottom hoops to act as counter resistance for the drum heads.
What looks like the "single tension pegs" are actually tension rods entering the shell horizontally.

From my limited knowledge of WFL Victory drums I gather that truly original Victory drums can't use modern drum heads. And in order to achieve a modern fit you have to file down both edges of the wooden "bows" in picture 2.
Of course I have no idea if that's true, but it would certainly explain why I can't get modern heads on this puppy.

Do you get separate tension outta that tunning device ? Am I correct to think those leaf springs pull both heads evenly together ?
Try Matt at CT Pro Percussion. He's also a fourm member. He makes all kinds of calf heads. I'm sure he can hook you up and his prices are very reasonable too.
I just had a thought, If you took 1/4 of the material on the top half of every leaf spring off (makeing it thinner) with a belt sander or something, does it make sence that even under the same pressure of one tunning rod, the top head would be less tensioned than the bottom head or vise versa if you turn the leaf springs around.
Does that make sence to anyone ?
