Greetings/Wine Red Ripple Powertone Info

Hello All. Wish my reason for joining was a happier one, but circumstances have me considering selling my Cleveland Powertone...... Gagging as I type these words. If memory serves, bought it at either the very first Hollywood Vintage Show, or the second. Son was born a month after that, and this has sat in the closet since! Hoping to gather as much info as is available, and really curious if there's any sort of loose
production count for this finish? Not likely, Im sure. Just disassembled for the first time, and from what I can gather everything seems original, but anyone willing to provide their expertise will be greatly appreciated! Here are some pics... and thank you!

Hello Ryan...and Welcome to the forum!

Wood-shell Powertone snare drums are always in demand. I have a Tower snare drum, which came with a different strainer and butt and the interior is flat grey instead of gloss. I converted mine to a Powertone with the proper Swivomatic strainer and butt. It's a fantastic sounding snare drum and is used with my 1966 Rogers Headliner set.

Your drum appears to be in excellent condition and looks all original except for heads. It's common for these wraps to split due to age. If yours has not split, you can easily expect $600+ for the drum!

Thank you guys for your input, appreciate it! Someone mentioned the tag could be 1965-early 66?Theres no fading on the wrap, but there is one single spilt under the throwoff. Saw someone, maybe vintage drum center, mentioning repairing splits, but this is minor and better left alone, at least by me! Had to adjust lighting to show the split, hence the 2 pics. Am I mistaken, or does it seem the vintage market was a bit hotter in the mid 90’s? Seems things I look at are around the same price? Anyway, when I decide to let her go, guess I put in in the for sale portion of the site? I try to avoid PayPal at all costs, so eBay/reverb is not my first choice!

DOH, with the reduction of resolution you canít make anything out? My first attempt at forums, chatrooms, etc.... and definitely not a photographer. This may be better
