new quy with questions Last viewed: 4 minutes ago

I have a ton of drum stuff from when I was younger. I was never too interested in the actual drums until I was older. Just had a few questions about what I have.

ludwig S# 145260. I believe this is a 1965 kit called the "blue note"? could be wrong. For this kit I have the matching bass drum, this tom, a chrome snare, speed king pedal, hi hat, cymbal stand connected to bass drum, and the small ride cymbal and i believe some hi hat cymbals. This is probly the only kit I would ever sell. It's missing the bottom head/hoops for the tom and the bass drum. Any clue as to what it's worth?

Slingerland S#78332

This is the kit I learned to play drums on. Unfortunately I didn't take the best care of it, there are a few rub marks on it from the toms laying on the bass drum. Random rub marks all around. Just wondering if it would be wise to sand it to nice new wood and repaint it. I would want it to be the same color it is now. Would this make it worthless? For this kit I have the bass drum, two toms and a floor tom.

Heres some other random stuff I guess....

Part of my cymbal collection. My dad sorted out the rarest ones a while back and keeps them hidden along with my grandpa's old snare.

My marching snare

And the newest kit I actually play

I'd be interested in that Ludwig kit you have if you are selling it. The Slingerland kit I believe is a veneer and one of their wood grain finishes they put out in the 70's, trying to clean it up may cause more issues if it is a veneer. I'd sell it as is and let the buyer do what they want.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

Can I make a comment on your new gretsch kit, why do you have it eleveted so high in the front? you only need it be 2" to 2 1/2" off the ground with the bass drum pedal mounted to the drum,!

That bassdrum MIGHT be an 18 inch kick, so, it has to be that high to get the beater in the middle. If it's not an 18inch kick, then, Vintage 2000 is totally right. (He's right a lot!)

(vintagemore2000 is one of my favorite posters, I have learned so much from his posts/music video choices, that in no way way am I correcting him. Just to be clear)

Super B, thanks but you may be on the money on this one, it has 8 lugs, so I think you nailed it!

Nice Ludwigs - couldn't see on the first one, is that Chicago as well?

Also, what camera & lens are you using?
